Artist celebrates America's Cup triumph with trophy made of waste


The America’s Cup replica is made up of water and marine themed items and took 10 weeks and about five different attempts to build.
Despite the years of collecting from her local beaches Dine continues to be surprised by the items she encounters.
“There are persistent things like the soy containers and drink bottles, but you find the most bizarre things, including toothbrushes, a plug, hot water bottles, jandals and a medical respiration mask. Plastic pegs are a shocker,” Dine said.

They are showing up in fish stomachs and in beaches across the country, but how are oesophagus clips escaping the meatworks?
It starts with a very puzzled fisherman in The Catlins.
Wondered why the big kahawai I caught recently was so skinny . until I checked the stomach contents and found it full of plastic, he posts on Facebook.
