TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 18 Florida State women’s cross country team will be one of 31 teams lining up to compete in the 6K at the 2020 NCAA Cross Country Championships, which are being held at the Oklahoma State Cross Country Course in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The top Seminoles will be racing in their first cross country contest since the ACC Championships on Oct. 30, where FSU finished third with a total of 109 points. The women’s 6K will start at 12:50 p.m. and the men’s 10K will follow at 1:40 p.m. Both races will be featured on ESPNU. Coverage of the event begins at 12:30 p.m. ....

On a picturesque Friday morning at the Apalachee Regional Park, the Seminoles had two runners in the top five and four in the top 15, completing the race with a total of 49 points ahead of Temple (117) and South Florida (153). RV Syracuse (31) took home the team title ahead of No. 17 Michigan (42). “If today was a regional meet, we would be through to nationals after that performance,” FSU head coach Bob Braman said. “We ran really well. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State cross country teams will be hosting the FSU Winter Last Chance Meet on Friday morning at the Apalachee Regional Park. The meet is the final chance for any team to qualify for the NCAA Championships in Stillwater, Okla., on March 15. Behind the third place finish at the ACC Championships back in October, the No. 18 FSU women’s team will sit out its top runners and await their NCAA bid, while the men’s team will put forth its best effort in order to qualify for nationals. “We’re very excited to host a high-level cross country meet in March,” FSU head coach Bob Braman said. “This is why the course was built and we’ve got the best place to be in the country this weekend. Neither meet is that big, but our men will be running in a very good meet alongside Michigan and Syracuse. If we can’t pull off the upset for the win, they we have to look good and be close behind.” ....
CLEMSON, S.C. – The Florida State track and field team opened the 2021 ACC Indoor Championships with several performances qualifying for the finals and multiple personal bests. Highlighting the day was sprinter Jo’Vaughn Martin who dropped a No. 9 national mark in the 200m prelims with a time of 20.72. Martin, who has battled many setbacks and injuries thus far this season, competed for the first time in the Garnet and Gold on Thursday night. His opening meet performance earned him a spot in the FSU history books at No. 7. “The biggest performance for the Men was Jo’Vaughn Martin’s 200m race,” said Head Coach Bob Braman. “He ran a top 10 national time and qualified 2nd fastest for the ACC final.” ....
