The Salvation Army raised more than $192,000 through its red Kettle Campaign, mailed-in donations and online support, exceeding its goal of $151,000. Maj. Judy Lowder, corps officer, said the Salvation Army expected a possible 50% decrease in donations as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. “We are thankful to all those who supported the campaign and for enabling The Salvation Army to continue its mission of meeting human needs,” she said. Salvation Army of Milwaukee County surpasses Red Kettle campaign goal Share The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County’s signature annual campaign exceeded its goal by nearly $900,000, despite initial projections that donations would be down because of COVID-19. The 2020 Red Kettle Campaign brought in $4.04 million, surpassing the Salvation Army’s original target of $3.15 million. Two gifts from anonymous donors amounted to more than $1 million, and about $530,000 came from donations collected in red kettles. We have worked closely with the Health Department to ensure that we are keeping our staff and neighbors safe. We flexed with every Executive Order, CDC guideline and Health Department recommendation.
