Salem man pleads guilty to damaging cameras at jail | News, Sports, Jobs

May 6, 2021 LISBON Robert Kastanek,36, North Madison Avenue, Salem, pleaded guilty in Common Pleas Court to a fifth-degree felony vandalism, a lesser-included offense to the fourth-degree felony vandalism charge he was originally facing. The charge was for damage to multi-directional surveillance cameras at the county jail on March 9. Sentencing is set for June 18, when he faces up to a year in prison and a $2,500 fine. Nicole M. Hilton, 51, East Lincoln Way, Lisbon, was found to be suffering from severe mental illness at the time of her alleged actions, causing harm to Lt. Shar Daub of Lisbon police, which led to her being charged with assault, a fourth-degree felony. The matter is set for a further hearing on May 17 to determine if hospitalization is appropriate.
