PAWS & More Livestream Fundraiser Garners Thousands of Dollars Wednesday

From the police chief locked in the “dog pound” to a face-painted mayor, nothing was off limits or off-leash for a social media fundraising event Wednesday at the PAWS & More Animal Shelter in Washington.
Kris Rotonda live streamed from the shelter from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., as part of Jordan’s Way, a 50-state campaign to increase pet adoptions and donations for animal shelters, for which he’s so far visited 18 states and 73 shelters. Familiar local faces took part in the livestream to help generate donations, including Mayor Jaron Rosien, who had the words “Adopt Me” painted on his forehead, “The mission is solid at PAWS & More. I have an animal from here, there’s animals that can be adopted. There are three puppies in there that’ll be available for adoption in a couple of weeks so just to raise awareness for people of this shelter right here and what it has to offer.” ....

PAWS & More Animal Shelter is being featured by a nationally-known social media personality today to raise funds for ongoing expenses.
Kris Rotonda of Jordan’s Way is hosting a Facebook livestream from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. from PAWS & More, where he’ll be enlisting the help of local officials and community leaders for challenges and surprises to encourage his roughly 70,000 followers to donate online to the shelter. Rotonda is on a 50-state tour to help fundraise and increase adoptions for animal shelters, and he’s held recent campaigns in Des Moines and Fort Madison. A social media personality will be paying a visit to PAWS & More Animal Shelter this Wednesday as part of a national effort to assist animal shelters.
Kris Rotonda of Jordan’s Way will be doing a Facebook livestream event from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday as part of his mission to amplify the work and needs of animal shelters to his approximately 70,000 followers. PAWS & More Director Amber Talbot says Rotonda’s social media events have often led to adoptions of many of the participating shelters’ pets as well as monetary support, “A lot of shelters are receiving anywhere from $5-15,000 even at these events, so he’s able to fundraise in just a few hours so it’s very impactful. He has such a large following that it’s such a great opportunity for your organization to be seen on a larger scale. He’s national and so it’s great for any small business to have that kind of publicity, so we’re so excited.” ....

Des Moines County Humane Society Animal Shelter will be the site of pies to the face, a doggy jail, dancing, and other fun and games Tuesday at a fundraiser for the shelter.
Social media personality Kris Rotonda will bring his high-energy antics to the shelter to raise funds and inspire people to adopt pets.
The Burlington stop is part of his 50-state goal to visit 300 animal shelters and raise awareness of animal and shelter needs.
During his tour, Rotonda goes live on Facebook for four hours at each shelter to raise donations to benefit its animals, sometimes raising upward of $15,000. ....

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Start Over Rover in Hastings raised over $16,000 with the help of a national charity organization called Jordan’s Way. They were one of eight Nebraska shelters that are getting the focus from Jordan’s Way.
The charity has gotten national attention and founder Kris Rotonda has been on The Dodo and the Hallmark channel promoting it. He is on a mission to travel to all 50 states and raise money for animal shelters along the way. He started the organization after his own experience of adopting a shelter dog. ....
