AZ Schools Have New Anti-Racism Training Program They Can Use


Arizona public schools have a new anti-racism training program at their disposal, thanks to the Arizona Educational Foundation.
The Our World program is aimed at putting anti-racism work at the heart of what schools, districts and businesses are doing.
Boeing provided a grant to let any school or district to take part for free, and the training is customized to help schools and districts address their specific equity goals.
Kim Graham is the executive director of the Arizona Educational Foundation, and The Show spoke with her to talk more about the program.

Clemson Athletics Black History: Kim Graham
Kim Graham was inducted into the Clemson Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998, the first African-American women’s track athlete to be chosen.  She was also named to the ACC 50-Year Anniversary women’s track team in 2003.
That same year Graham won the Frank Howard Award, the honor given each year to the athlete who  brought the most honor to Clemson University.
Graham was the first Clemson women’s track athlete to be named the Most Valuable Performer of the ACC Indoor Championships, and was a two-time winner of the award outdoors, 1991 and 1993.
Graham is Clemson’s all-time leader in ACC Championships, as she won 10 individual and five more on relays between 1991-93.  She was a five-time All-American, one indoor and four outdoor. ....

PANAMA CITY The story of Hawk Massalina, an early African American pioneer in Bay County, is the stuff of legends. But for author, coach and motivational speaker Willie Spears, Massalina was the subject of old family stories.
When my grandmother was alive Hawk s youngest child, Helen  I would always tell her I was going to film her talking about her famous father. I said the same to my two aunts, her sisters, Spears said. We as a family dropped the ball by not getting a first person account of his life documented.
