Mayor appoints three to committee exploring new ~$42 million Casper Police headquarters By Brendan LaChance on February 16, 2021 A crowd gathers outside of the Natrona County Hall of Justice (Oil City staff) CASPER, Wyo. Casper Mayor Steve Freel said ahead of the city council’s Tuesday, Feb. 16 meeting that three council members have been appointed to serve on a committee that will be established to explore how to pursue a project to build a new Casper Police Department headquarters. Freel appointed Council members Lisa Engebretsen, Steve Cathey and Bruce Knell to the committee. Freel said he would also attend some of the committee’s meetings. ....
By Greg Hirst on February 6, 2021 (U-Haul, Facebook) CASPER, Wyo Data from moving giant U-Haul revealed a “mass exodus” from the West Coast and New York City in 2020, said Jeff Lockridge, public relations manager of U-Haul International. Lockridge said that as soon as the coronavirus pandemic was declared a National Emergency in March, the top 30 populated cities all saw more one-way truck rentals moving out than there were moving in. The San Francisco Bay Area and New York City were among the most prevalent out-migration markets in U.S. during this three-month period – and throughout 2020, according U-Haul data.
