A LUXURY flats development in the heart of Kilmacolm has been abandoned unfinished leaving angry residents living beside an an eyesore . The site of the former Institute building in Lochwinnoch Road was part of a wider plan to create shops as well as new properties, facing onto Smithy Brae. But contractors have not been on site for the last 12 months. The construction project started six years ago. Neighbours say the site is now overrun with birds and they fear it will be left that way indefinitely. Kilmacolm woman Pat Erasmus, who lives in Roseburn Terrace, said: It is an eyesore and an absolutely disgrace. ....
Brothers Andrew and Calum Telfer run High Branchal Farm with their parents James and Maureen. They sell the milk produced by their 180 cows to Muller, but over the last couple of years they ve been thinking about how they can take back more control of their product. They ve now set up Moovin Milk - a mobile trailer where customers can fill glass bottles with freshly-pasteurised milk, straight from their farm. The brothers hoped to launch the business in May 2020 but were forced to delay their plans due to coronavirus restrictions. They finally managed to launch the business in November and have already built up a loyal customer base. ....
THE rollout of the new Oxford coronavirus vaccine is now under way in Inverclyde to protect over 3,000 residents over the age of 80. Local GP practices have been supplied with supplies of the vaccine to help in the fightback against Covid-19. Kilmacolm s New Surgery is one of the places running clinics, which follow on from the effort to vaccinate care home residents and frontline staff. Delighted New Surgery patient Hazel Blyth, 86, was one of the first people to be inoculated yesterday. Hazel told the Tele: I am absolutely thrilled to get my vaccination. It is fabulous. It was no problem at all to get the jab, it all went very well. ....
