Tennessee man, 70, wanted for 2 murders found dead in lake, investigators say

Investigators did not immediately say how Vowell died.

Obion County District Attorney Tommy Thomas told WREG-TV last week amid the manhunt that investigators have spoken to a third hunter who was in the same duck blind as the victims when the incident occurred. However, Thomas said he could not comment on what led to the shooting.
Vowell appeared to have fled the scene on foot as investigators told news outlets that a vehicle and a boat belonging to the suspect were seized near the boat ramp at the lake.
Authorities charged Vowell with two counts of first-degree murder as the search, aided by U.S. Marshalls, intensified. ....

Members of the Obion County Sheriff s Office and the TBI are currently investigating a shooting at Reelfoot Lake in Obion County, one resulting in the death of two men.
According to reports, Chance Black, 26, and Zach Grooms, 26, reportedly from Greenfield, were fatally shot Monday morning while duck hunting at the lake.

TIPTONVILLE The two inmates who escaped from the Northwest Correctional Complex/Minimum Security Annex have been arrested in Pompano Beach, Florida and are now in police custody. Robert Lee Brown and Christopher Osteen were taken into custody by the Broward County Florida Sheriffs Department, the U.S. Marshals Service, and other local and federal law enforcement agencies three days after leaving the facility in Tiptonville.
Brown, 36, was serving an 18-year sentence for Aggravated Rape out of Putnam County. His sentence was set to expire in 2022. Christopher Osteen, 34, was serving an 8-year sentence for Burglary out of Madison County. His sentence was set to expire in 2023. ....
