However there are a growing number of Cecil County farmers raising beef, chicken, lamb, goat and other livestock with a ready supply of meats ready to go into freezers. One of those is Christopher Price is a third generation farmer raising Angus beef. âMy grandfather bought this farm in 1948 and started a beef operation,â Price said. Now more than 70 years later Price said most of the business is in freezer beef ordered by customers and picked up at one of two processors; Haass in Dover or Sudlersville Meat Locker. ....
ELKTON â The Cecil County Board of License Commissioners have again denied a request for a liquor license for Bohemia Beach Bar in Earleville. David Norcini and Lawson Vanormer wanted to institute a membership program, presenting the bar at 1444 Glebe Road as Hacks Point Yacht Club, a for-profit club. After debating behind closed doors the board returned and gave five specific reasons for denying the license. The board accused Norcini of âmaking contradictory statements which rise to the level of material false statements regarding the number of memberâs guests and the applicantâs residency.â Norcini showed the board his Maryland driverâs license but the board countered with evidence he still lived in Pennsylvania. ....
News from the fields, farms and beyond⦠Chesapeake Gold Farms has added another product to its line of farm fresh goodness with the Ararat Salami. Made from the dairy beef raised on the farm on Grove Miller Lane in North East, itâs the first dried meat product being offered. It joins the Chesapeake Gold line of cheeses produced with milk from the dairy cattle on the farm. The salami comes in a 6-ounce stick, perfect for slicing for a charcuterie board, according to Bob Miller. âWeâre working with a high-end processor in Washington, D.C.,â he said, noting âAraratâ is one of their recipes. ....
