Music legend Quincy Jones received the Icon Award, while veteran music supervisor Maureen Crowe received the Legacy Award, at Sunday night’s 11th annual Guild of Music Supervisors Awards.
The GMS awards were held virtually and it was the most all-star event the group had yet assembled. Presenters included John Legend, Regina King and Billie Eilish.

Stevie Wonder recalled meeting Quincy Jones at New York’s legendary Apollo Theater when he was just 14 years old. “I cherish your commitment to doing great music, not just producing it but writing it,” he said, citing Jones’ role in creating “We Are The World” in 1985. He signed off by playing “I love you Quincy” at the piano. ....

David Fincher’s “Mank” and Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet” were among the winners at the Art Directors Guild Awards on Saturday night both are also Oscar nominees for best production design.
In a hybrid ceremony, the ADG (IATSE Local 800) awarded 11 categories across television, film, music videos and commercials.

Firm with Colorado Springs ties developing virtual reality for pilot training

The company has been awarded $4 million from AFVentures and the Secretary of Defense s Rapid Reaction Technology Office to accelerate development of its its virtual training platform called Ready VR. The awards follow a series of smaller grants Moth+Flame has won since late 2019 to adapt technology the company developed in 2015 for use in the entertainment industry that was later adapted for corporate and government training.
Kevin Cornish, who grew up in Colorado Springs, is founder and CEO of Moth+Flame and five of the company s 24 employees live in either Colorado Springs or Denver, including Bryce Luken, chief operating officer; Megan Cornish, vice president of government and industry affairs who also is the sister of Kevin Cornish, and several contracting specialists. The company has no offices and all employees work remotely. ....
