Storm scan3 shows the large system here covering a big portion of the midwest right now. And that is heading our way. And its also expected to bring us a mixture snow, sleet and rain. All is quite right now but we have arctic air mass in place much this storm will be able to strengthen enough to try to bring in mild air but i still think this cold air will be stubborn. So much warmer there up in broad heads ville, you can see, the snow that remains on the ground and why not at 20 degrees. Storm scan3, you can also see the precipitation pressing in from the west. We are going to be finding it as we move through this evening, overnight and tomorrow, as well. It comes in a variety of wintery forms. However, we get anything from snow to sleet to freezing rain to regular rain, depending where you are in the area. Temperatures right now 26 in philadelphia, 25 trenton 20 degrees in wilmington, 19 in the poconos, 21 in wildwood. And we should be getting above the freezing mark as we move through the afternoon which would be nice for a change. High temperatures today get to go about 35 degrees. And it wont be as windy as it was yesterday. In some spots later on this afternoon, i put that at 3 00 but could be much later than, that but just that some snow specially to the west could begin at that point. Of divides our area as well, areas to the north are more likely to be finding the wintery component on there is and the rest every us could be dealing with through the philadelphia area points south, with some rain, but you also could be finding some that far wintery stuff going on as well. I look at the surface observations way out in harrisburg lancaster none that far is hitting the grounds, air mass is very dry it, will take through the day to get the air mass ready for this snow, to fall it, will start as little light snow, then we can be finding these transitions over the snow, sleet, and rain, and freezing rain, than sort of thing. Thats why pay very close attention to the temperature in your area. Because you could be finding rain coming down, and it can be freezing on surfaces, as we go through the overnight time period. Ever seen one. Storm scan3 wide view, snow to the north rain to the south, essentially we will be fine withing this system when it moves into philadelphia. Depending on where you are if youre north of philadelphia, youre more likely to see the snow south the rain, as this gets going. But, to begin with, we could be finding some snow in the area, as we move through the Late Afternoon time period, before transition starts to come in here into the sleet and the possibility of some freezing rain and just regular rain as those temperatures come up on the ground. So right now, i have not been able to find any of the snow actually hitting the grounds through any of these locations, so you can see it is definitely falling aloft just getting ready for the snow come.
