BJP will again form govt in Uttarakhand after 2022 polls : New state party president Madan Kaushik
A four-time MLA from Haridwar and a state minister, Madan Kaushik has been made the BJP s state unit president in place of Banshidhar Bhagat by JP Nadda.

DEHRADUN: Uttarakhand s new BJP president Madan Kaushik Friday said he would successfully meet the challenges of 2022 state assembly elections.
Talking to reporters after being appointed the president of the BJP s state unit, Kaushik exuded confidence that his party will again win the assembly elections and form the government in the state after 2022 polls.
However, in 2017, defying the ‘jinx’, Trivendra Singh Rawat had shifted to the bungalow, located in a sprawling 10-acre area in the heart of the city. At the time, he had said that he did not give credence to rumours, but had nevertheless decided to make the shift on the second day of the Navratra season, considered auspicious for new beginnings, after conducting a 2-hour long pooja along with his wife and two daughters.
Designed in a ‘pahadi’ style, the bungalow, with 60 rooms, was built in 2010 and comprises of a badminton court, swimming pool, several lawns as well as separate offices for the CM and his team. It was built at a cost of Rs 16 crore.

Uttarakhand has seen political instability since 2000 when the hill state was carved out of Uttar Pradesh. On March 9, Trivendra Singh Rawat became the sixth chief miniter from the BJP to have resigned. So far Uttarakhand has seen only one CM, ND Tiwari of Congress completing a full term.
