(The Leader-Herald/Michael Anich) JOHNSTOWN A Fulton County Board of Supervisors’ committee recently heard a presentation on Nexus Renewables’ $5.6 million solar project adjacent to the Tryon Technology Park in Perth. The committee also approved a proposed county subscription related to the project, which isn’t expected to be done until next year. County Planning Director Scott Henze updated the panel on the project at the County Office Building. “This is a community solar project,” he told supervisors.

IDA sets forth 2021 goals | News, Sports, Jobs

JOHNSTOWN The Fulton County Industrial Development Agency recently prioritized its board goals for 2021. At its Jan. 12 2021 annual meeting, the DA board had identified potential goals for 2021: One identify potential sites for redevelopment and conduct desktop assessments on them; two contact National Grid to see if there’s ways to expedite any hurdles for potential projects; three conduct a summit with the IDA’s economic development partners; four develop new revenue streams for the IDA; and five conduct board training. IDA Executive Director James Mraz at the board’s February meeting again broached the topic of goals. Mraz told the board he thought goals one, three and five were “most attainable.” It was noted by the board that goal three a summit might potentially wait until after the COVID-19 pandemic had lessened.

Adjuster: Insurance should reimburse IDA | News, Sports, Jobs

manich@leaderherald.com JOHNSTOWN An adjuster is recommending to the Fulton County Industrial Development Agency’s insurance carrier that repairs for vandalism that occurred at the Tryon Technology Park be reimbursed. IDA Executive Director James Mraz gave the IDA board an update on the situation at its Tuesday virtual meeting. He said that on Oct. 22, he met with Robert Marks, Marks Adjustments, Inc., to inspect damage and take photos of vandalism at Tryon. He said that on Dec. 2, Marks emailed back and advised that he recommended to the New York Municipal Insurance Reciprocal that it reimburse the IDA’s cost for making emergency repairs.

Work continues on various sewer issues in Tryon Technology Park | News, Sports, Jobs

manich@leaderherald.com JOHNSTOWN The Fulton County Industrial Development Agency continues to be involved in sewer work and projects in and around the developing Tryon Technology Park in Perth. The IDA board on Tuesday continued discussion on a plugged sewer that was discovered in June at Tryon. IDA Executive Director James Mraz updated the board on the situation, noting that Adirondack Septic was hired and rerouted sewer flow around the plugged line. The work was completed, but the plugged main needs to be repaired. At its Nov. 10 meeting, the IDA board authorized execution of an agreement with Pareene Contracting to replace the entire section of sewer main between two manholes, and replace two sewer plug valves.
