Tuesday is the worst day of the week, IMHO. The big deals this week: Foxconn has a new deal, new beer gardens and Milwaukee reacts to the Derek Chauvin verdict. Let s talk business Foxconn and the state of Wisconsin have a new deal. It s smaller. A lot smaller. The Taiwanese company is now saying that it will create about 1,454 jobs here by 2025. In exchange, Foxconn will g et up to $80 million in tax credits. When the project was first pitched, Foxconn said it would create 13,000 high-tech jobs in Wisconsin. The state would have given the company up to $2.85 billion for that. ....
On the Town: O’Hara to headline OKC Philharmonic fundraiser By: Lillie-Beth Brinkman The Journal Record April 16, 2021 Lillie-Beth Brinkman Oklahoma native and Broadway star Kelli O’Hara will headline the OKC Philharmonic’s virtual fundraiser on May 20, the organization announced recently. Beginning at 7:30 p.m., “An Evening With Kelli O’Hara” will feature the Broadway star, along with Jan McDaniel on piano and the philharmonic musicians. Glenna and Dick Tanenbaum are the presenting sponsor. The evening also includes special appearances by Jane Jayroe Gamble, OKC Phil’s board president-elect and honorary chairman of the event, and Maestro Alexander Mickelthwate. The musical programming will feature many of O’Hara’s favorite Broadway tunes and other musical selections. ....

April 19, 1775, the Battle of Lexington and Concord. The Concord Museum is home to more artifacts from that battle than any other institution. The museum recently completed a $1.2 million revamp of its permanent âApril 19, 1775â gallery, part of a larger ongoing renovation due to be completed this summer. This will be the first Patriots Day visitors can experience the new gallery. (Outdoor activities are also on the docket through school vacation week, including reenactments on the museum lawn on Patriots Day.) ....
