Good morning, everyone. From new york, this is msnbc. Im ayman mohyeldin. This morning, new records and also new signs for hope. Many states coming off of their deadlie deadliest day to date, but the hardesthit state, new york, is seeing the rate of hospitalizations slowing down. Is that a good sign . Meaning so far, supplies of critical equipment and protective gear seem to be holding up with new evidence on the effectiveness of social distancing guidelines. But the white house warning americans this morning, were nowhere near the end of this crisis. We could see a very acute second wave, very early. So we are really encouraging every american to continue to follow the guidelines. And more guidance could come as soon as today while the cdc looks at whether some people who may have been exposed to the virus but dont show symptoms can begin to return to work.
