Newly-elected President and Chairman of Council, National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), Mr. Idorenyen Enang, has pledged to improve collaboration between the institute and marketing professionals in the nation’s academia, so as to further reposition and enhance the quality of marketing practitioners in the country. Enang made the call even as experts have suggested that there were huge opportunities for businesses which have suffered adverse effects of the Covid-19 pandemic to turn around their fortunes with the support of marketing practitioners. Speaking in Lagos weekend after being sworn in as the Institute’s new president and chairman of council, he explained that one of the priorities of his administration would be to fully engage marketing professionals in the academia and ensure they contribute more to the capacity development programme of the institute. ....

The governors, Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo) and others, gathered to address the growing issues of insecurity and other matters affecting their regions. It was gathered that Gov Gboyega Oyetola of Osun and his Cross Rivers counterpart, Ben Ayade were absent at the meeting. But what is, however, strange, especially in this part of the globe, is the uncommon passion with which the marketing institute’s boss still intends to drive to the institute till his last working days, at the institute. Over the weekend, in Lagos, Agenmonmen announced the May 27 and 28 dates for its Annual Marketing Conference and Annual General Meeting, respectively, while he also added that the jostles for the three offices, to be contested: those of the president, and two vacant council seats, had already begun, in earnest. ....

Addressing journalists in Lagos ahead of the Conference where a new President will be elected, Mr Agenmonmen said under his leadership, the institute has laid a solid foundation for marketing professionals in the country. “This will be my last AMC as President and Chairman of Council of our great Institute. Therefore, I will also use the occasion to present my stewardship for the slightly over 4 years that I have had the privilege of leading my colleagues in Council, to lay a solid foundation and an irreversible growth for the Institute,” he said. ....
