PETALING JAYA, Dec 30 ― It appears that several residents in the Klang Valley will be celebrating the new year with dry taps as repair works for a broken pipe at Damansara Utama is taking longer than expected. According to Air Selangor, the repair work for the broken pipe which was caused by a landslide is expected to take up to 30 hours and it is estimated to be completed by 6.00am tomorrow (December 31, 2020). Apart from the initial 43 areas in the Petaling region, the water cut also affects 20 areas in Kuala Lumpur. ....

PETALING JAYA: Repair works on a damaged pipe due to a landslide in Damansara Utama is expected to fully complete by 6am on Dec 31, says Air Selangor.
Air Selangor said they started the repair works on Tuesday night (Dec 29) and expected to take 30 hours to finish the task.
Users will get their water supply in stages after the repair works are completed. Full restoration of water supply on affected areas will be at 6pm, Jan 1, it said in a statement on Wednesday (Dec 30).
Air Selangor added that they are providing water supply assistance through water tankers to affected areas especially to critical premises such as hospitals and dialysis centres. ....

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 30): The burst pipe repair works in Damansara Utama which started from 12.30am was 67% completed as of 8pm tonight.
Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) Corporate Communications head Elina Baseri said the repair works to the pipe that was damaged due to a landslide in the area was running smoothly, according to schedule.
“Air Selangor is working to ensure that repair works can be expedited,” she said in a statement today.
The pipe repair works had caused water supply disruption at 43 locations in Petaling and 20 locations in Kuala Lumpur.
She advised consumers to get alternative water supply assistance through water tankers mobilised to the affected areas or through static water tanks placed at two local service centres provided in compliance with the regulations. ....
