'So many reasons' nuclear power should be a 'key part' of our energy mix

Mike Hewitt, CEO of nuclear power development company IP3, says there are “so many reasons” nuclear should be a key part of Australia’s energy mix.

“Not the least of which, we’re the only G20 nation not pursuing nuclear power or having nuclear power,” he said.

“They also have suffered from many of the energy poverty issues that have come about because of an over-dependence and over-commitment to renewable energy.” ....

Sky News host Amanda Stoker says Australia has given her “everything” and is “worth the bother”.

“It gave the migrants in my family a place to go, a fresh start after growing up in war-torn Europe,” she said.

“It gave my sister and I the example of great parents who built a life of substance from humble beginnings.

“And it gave this plumber s daughter a first-class education, a top-shelf husband and a family of three precocious girls to go with it.”
