VISAKHAPATNAM: The ruling YSRC has trounced the opposition in the just-concluded civic body elections across the State and north Andhra was not an exception. In most of the urban local bodies, the TDP came a distant second or was decimated. However, what surprised many was that in the largest and prestigious corporation of Visakhapatnam, almost 40 per cent of seats were won by the Opposition parties. ....

KADAPA: YSR Congress had a thumping landslide in Kadapa district, where barring Mydukur, it amassed absolute majority in all municipalities, the results for which were declared on Sunday.
In Mydukur, Telugu Desam pocketed 12 of the 24 wards while YSR Congress won in 11 and Jana Sena bagged one.

Meanwhile, Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy and Mydukur MLA Settipalli Raghurami Reddy exercising the ex-officio vote are to vote in favour of the ruling party. ....

VIJAYAWADA: Expectations of impressive performances are high among all political parties, particularly with regard to their winning prospects in the municipality and corporation elections.
YSRC is hoping for a clean sweep in 12 municipal corporations and 71 municipalities while the main opposition Telugu Desam is equally hopeful of grabbing main municipalities and Corporations.
