TDP, BJP claim moral victory, allege rigging by ruling party
The YSR Congress Party’s camp office in Tirupati erupted in celebrations on Sunday after the party emerged triumphant in the recently held byelection to the Tirupati Lok Sabha constituency.
YSRCP candidate Maddila Gurumoorthy, a physiotherapist by profession scored a thumping victory over TDP candidate and former Union Minister Panabaka Lakshmi. BJP-Jana Sena candidate and former bureaucrat K. Ratna Prabha came in a distant third. Though the YSRCP victory was comprehensive, the margin of victory was much lesser than the ‘five lakh majority’ projected ahead of the polls.
Exit Polls: Clear victory for TRS and YSRCP in bypolls:- The scheduled Assembly elections across the country concluded yesterday and the exit polls are announced. As per the predictions, the leading and ruling parties of Telugu states TRS and YSRCP will end up victorious in the recent Nagarjunasagar and Tirupati bypolls. The Nagarjunasagar bypoll was held after the sudden demise of the sitting MLA Nomula Narasimhaiah. TRS is expected to dominate the polls and end up with huge majority. Narasimhaiah s son Nomula Bhagath contested in the polls from the ruling party. Congress leader K Jana Reddy contested against Bhagath.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has accepted a petition filed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seeking a repoll for the Tirupati (SC) Lok Sabha constituency, the elections for which were held on April 17.
The petitioner K. Ratna Prabha, who was the party’s candidate for the byelection, wanted the election be countermanded in view of ‘fraudulent polling’ and ‘booth capturing’.
In the petition, she wanted the respondent, represented by the Centre, the State and the Election Commission of India, to conduct repolling. Despite overwhelming proof of illegal activities and fake votes, it is shocking that the respondents did not take any steps to curb the illegal activities and chose to remain silent on the petitioner’s representations, Ms. Ratna Prabha observed in her petition.

Tirupati: Panchayat Raj Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy slammed Chandrababu Naidu for stooping low and spreading false information on voting in the Tirupati bypoll.
Speaking to media here on Saturday, the Minister said being aware of TDP s poll prospects, Naidu has been spreading false information that bogus votes are being cast and all this is to create unrest in the constituency where elections were being conducted peacefully.
He said despite knowing the election process and how voters are allowed into polling booths, Naidu has been making false allegations on bogus voting and it clearly shows the mental condition of Naidu. He slammed yellow media for releasing a fake audio conversation of YSRCP leader and polling agent and said it had been recorded with dubbing artists.

Amaravati: Terming the allegations of bogus voting in Tirupati bypoll as the conspiracy of Chandrababu Naidu, Government Advisor (Public Affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said there is no need for YSRCP to bring voters from outside of and cast fake votes as 80 per cent of the voters across the state are supporting Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy
Speaking to media at the party central office here on Saturday, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said Naidu knowing that TDP would be losing has resorted to conspiracies and cheap tactics. He said Naidu has been insulting the democratic process which is being conducted in a free and fair manner.
