Show to benefit Boys & Girls Club of Marion County: Ocala Car Audio and Pals Auto Repair are hosting a car, truck and bike show from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 16 at War Horse Harley-Davidson, 5331 N. U.S. 441, Ocala. Each year the Boys & Girls Club of Marion County hosts a youth summer camp. The cost for this event is $50,000. With Covid and lack of events last year, they are in real need of some help to ensure our kids here in Marion County have a fun, safe and nurturing environment this summer, organizers wrote.

15th annual Father-Daughter Dance: This event, sponsored by Ambleside School, is open to the entire community. It will be held April 23 and 24 at a new venue: the World Equestrian Center at 1390 NW 80th Ave., Ocala.
As in years past, there will be three dances this year: 6-8 p.m. April 23, 4-6 p.m. April 24 and 7-9 p.m. April 24. Although hosted by Ambleside School of Ocala, this event is community-wide and designed to create a special evening for all fathers/ father-figures and their daughters in Marion County. Its three dances typically draw more than 2,200 attendees, Ambleside said in a news release.

Rib sale to benefit Ocala Police Department officer battling cancer: Each slab of ribs is $25, and tickets have to be pre-purchased. Pickup is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 10 at 100 Proof Saloon, 1735 N. Pine Ave., Ocala.

Officer Jason Douglas was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in late February. Douglas has spent time in the hospital, and his wife has been unable to work. All proceeds will go toward the officer and his family, assisting with home and medical bills.
