15th annual Father-Daughter Dance: This event, sponsored by Ambleside School, is open to the entire community. It will be held April 23 and 24 at a new venue: the World Equestrian Center at 1390 NW 80th Ave., Ocala.
As in years past, there will be three dances this year: 6-8 p.m. April 23, 4-6 p.m. April 24 and 7-9 p.m. April 24. Although hosted by Ambleside School of Ocala, this event is community-wide and designed to create a special evening for all fathers/ father-figures and their daughters in Marion County. Its three dances typically draw more than 2,200 attendees, Ambleside said in a news release.

EARS Endangered Animal Rescue Sanctuary: The group s next car show will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 17 at the sanctuary, 2250 NE 70th St., Ocala. The event is free to spectators, with a $10 fee to enter show cars, trucks and motorcycles. Food, 50/50, vendors. Call 266-2859

Rib sale to benefit Ocala Police Department officer battling cancer: Each slab of ribs is $25, and tickets have to be pre-purchased. Pickup is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 10 at 100 Proof Saloon, 1735 N. Pine Ave., Ocala.
To get tickets, go to FastTrack Staffing at 1028 E. Silver Springs Blvd. between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Tickets available through April 7. Tickets also available from OPD Detective Sean Young, 812-2673, and Dan Clark, 812-118 or d.clark@fasttrackse.com.
Officer Jason Douglas was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in late February. Douglas has spent time in the hospital, and his wife has been unable to work. All proceeds will go toward the officer and his family, assisting with home and medical bills.

Model Train Show: The Silver Springs Lions Club will hold this show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 13 at First Christian Church, 1908 E. Fort King St., Ocala. The Ocala Parrot Head Club: The club will host its annual blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 27) at LifeSouth Community Blood Center, 1607 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala.
