Stampede throttle Stars 10-4 in Lincoln

LINCOLN, NE (KELO.com) The Sioux Falls Stampede defeated the Lincoln Stars 10 to four Friday night at the Ice Box. Seven different players tallied goals for the Herd, while Cole Sillinger tallied his first career USHL hat trick in the contest. Christian Stoever made the start in net, stopping 30 of 34 shots on net.
The first game of a three-game, road trip weekend could not have started any worse as the Lincoln Stars opened with two quick goals in the first seven minutes of the period. After James Stefan and Jake Beaune tallied goals for the Stars, Stampede Head Coach Marty Murray called a timeout. Thirty seconds later Cole Sillinger scored his fifth goal in six games for the Herd to get within one. Luke Toporowski provided the assist on the play. ....

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) Sioux Falls Stampede defenseman Brent Johnson scored twice in the 5-1 win over the Waterloo Black Hawks at the PREMIER Center Friday night. Alternate captain Will Dineen added a pair to give the Herd the advantage. Goaltender Noah Grannan made the start in net and earned the victory to end a two-game losing streak.
After scoring a goal last weekend against the Fargo Force, United States Hockey League defenseman of the week Brent Johnson began the night with his fourth goal of the season at the 4:40 mark of the first period. Defenseman Dante Fantauzzi and point-leader Garrett Pinoniemi provided the assist on the shot from the blue line. The Herd held the 1-0 lead through the remaining sixteen minutes of the period. ....

Herd suffer ugly loss on ugly sweater night

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) The holiday cheer was dampened as the Sioux Falls Stampede fell to the Waterloo Black Hawks 5-2 Saturday night at the PREMIER Center. Will Dineen scored both goals for the Herd on Ugly Christmas Sweater Night, but it was a three-goal third period for the Black Hawks that upended the night. Noah Grannan made the start, stopping 24 of 27 shots on net.
Will Dineen had the Stampede cowbells and Santa’s sleigh bells ringing with a goal at the 7:33 mark of the opening period to take the 1-0 lead. Forward Tyler Haskins was able to shoot a puck on net that ricocheted off the pads of goaltender Charlie Glockner several times before Dineen was able to slide the puck in for the goal. The Black Hawks responded with a goal of their own from Cole Hansen five minutes later to tie the game up. SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) The Sioux Falls Stampede allowed a 2-1 third period lead slip away to the Fargo Force at the PREMIER Center on Military Appreciation Night on Saturday night. Mason Salquist scored the game-winning, overtime goal for the Force. Reid Pabich and Dan Russell scored for the Herd, while Trent Burnham made the start in net, stopping 28 of 31 shots on net.
The Fargo Force opened the scoring with a goal from Tyler Rollwagen at 6:44 of the first period off a deflected shot past goaltender Trent Burnham. Tucker Hodgson assisted on the goal. The Force outshot the Herd nine to seven in the period. ....
