Dianne W. Nelson, 82, of Jamestown, died Monday, April 12, 2021, in UPMC Hamot. A lifelong Jamestown resident, she was born May 27, 1938, the daughter of the late Robert and Oleita Seeley White. Dianne was a 1956 graduate of Jamestown High School and later graduated from WCA Hospital School of Nursing. Her career as a nurse began at WCA Hospital and included work in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., before she returned to Jamestown to be closer to family and start one of her own in the late 1960s. She returned to the workforce in the early 1980s as a home health care coordinator for Upjohn Healthcare (later Care-Givers) and was shortly thereafter promoted to be the manager of the Jamestown office, where she worked until retirement and was recognized for excellence in managing the top regional CareGivers office several times. ....
Beloved community leader “Mrs. Santa Monica” dies at 80 Jan. 15, 2021 at 6:00 am Long-time community service leader Jean McNeil Wyner died on Jan. 13 at age 80 from COVID-19 complications. Wyner was a true public servant serving as an elected officer in over 20 non-profits and dedicating endless hours to the YMCA, Westside Women’s Health Center, Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce, and Santa Monica History Museum among other organizations. Her devotion to the City was so great that she was nicknamed “Mrs. Santa Monica” and in 2009 the Chamber of Commerce created the Jean McNeil Wyner Community Service Award in her honor. “She cared about everyone, she had an ear for everyone, she laughed at anything you might say even if you weren’t a great joke teller. She was everybody’s favorite because she made everyone feel special. Jean was a blessing to so many of us,” said Tara Pomposini, CEO of Santa Monica Family YMCA. ....
