Share: COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services confirmed that FOUR (04) COVID-19 deaths were reported in the country on Tuesday (Mar. 09) raising Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll to 511. The details of the deceased are as follows: 01. An 81-year-old female from Uduwil. She was diagnosed as infected with COVID-19 while receiving treatment at a Private Hospital in Colombo and transferred to IDH, where she died on 09.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as blood poisoning, Covid infection, and acute diabetes. 02. A 76-year-old male from Horape. He was diagnosed as infected with COVID-19 while receiving treatment at a Private Hospital in Colombo and transferred to IDH, where he died on 07.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as acute stroke, Covid infection, acute diabetes, and high blood pressure.

Share: COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services confirmed that eight (08) COVID-19 deaths were reported in the country on Thursday (Feb. 18), raising Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll to 430. The details of the deceased are as follows: 01. A 67-year-old female from Dematagoda. she died on 16.02.2021 at her residence. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and acute diabetes. 02. A 58-year-old male from Colombo 08. He died on 17.02.2021 while undergoing treatment at Methsiri Sewana Treatment Centre, Anuradhapura. The cause of death is mentioned as heart disease caused by Covid-19 infection, acute kidney damages and high blood pressure. 03. A 43-year-old male from Meegoda. He was transferred from Welisara Chest Hospital to Homagama Base Hospital, where he died on 16.02.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as respiratory failure due to bronchitis and Covid pneumonia.

The Director General of Health Services has confirmed following deaths of COVID-19 infected patients and accordingly the total number of deaths from COVID-19 infected patients reported from Sri Lanka is 149. 01. The deceased was a 55 year old male from Colombo 15. He was diagnosed as infected with COVID-19 virus and transferred from Welisara Chest Hospital to Pimbura Base Hospital and later to Base Hospital Mulleriyawa where he died on 11 December 2020
