That all that water caused a lot of emotion. The earth shifted meaning the soil, of course, and they had to cut a larger than expected hole as you see there to replace all that washed away. At 3 00 this morning emergency crews found water bubbling from two spots in the pavement. Water had already made its way to nearby garages. The loading dock at the Marriott Hotel also flooded. Very little, if any, damage to any of the properties. There was some flooding spillage into a couple of other garages in the area. Reporter the new mosconi underground station is part of the new project and it, too, got flooded and construction there is still going on. While there was a reduction in water pressure, service to people who live and work there was never interrupted. The water from the 12inch pipe was rerouted. A huge hole in the old pipe was discovered. Crews worked quickly to replace that section of the right above it is a much larger 30inch ....
Portion of the sea wall that washed out during the weekend storms. Drone video shot this afternoon shows the lower section of the wall without any sand or rock supporting its base. Sand just, you know, washed away and thats why we have a big cavity. Reporter the sand behind the sea wall was carved out because of rain runoff and a Drainage Pipe that broke. Concrete will shore up the base of the wall again and crews will refill the walkway with sand. Popular walkway, is it going to rehope . Of course. Its supposed to open hopefully by the end of this week. The preparations for the cement pure stirred a bit of excitement and concern. Workers installed a chain link fence on the overlook and then two men tethered down the side of the hill to take a look at how much of the base was washed out. One resident whose apartment faces the cliff says he was concerned for the workers safety. The concern there is you dont go down anywhere by yours ....
