A long-awaited revitalization of Ramsay Park is set to take place, as the Watsonville City Council unanimously voted to approve a construction contract with Robert A. Bothman Inc. at its Tuesday meeting.
Ramsay Park is Watsonville's largest park and today consists of a basketball court, hiking trails, skate park, pump track, indoor and outdoor soccer fields, a softball field, tennis courts and a playground on the hill. The enhancement plan includes a small and large dog park on the hilltop area, a repaving of the Main Street parking lot, a remodel of the existing softball field into a synthetic turf multi-use field that can also accommodate soccer, and an inclusive playground with a swing area, spinning features, musical and sensory areas, picnic areas and a slide area with the existing large slide.
