Top-Seeded Seminoles Begin NCAA Regional

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – The No. 1-seeded Florida State Men’s Golf team prepares for its first-ever competition at the renovated Seminole Legacy Golf Club as it hosts a 14-team NCAA Regional from May 17-19.

The low five teams in the NCAA Regional, as well as the top qualifying individual from a non-advancing team, will advance to the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship held May 28-June 2 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Maxwell Moldovan Named 2nd Team All-Big Ten

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State freshman Maxwell Moldovan has certainly lived up to the hype in his first collegiate season and he was recognized for his play on Wednesday, by being named second team All-Big Ten.
Moldovan flew out of the gate, recording rounds at par or better in each of his first 13 collegiate rounds. He has five Top 20 finishes in seven events, including three Top 10 finishes. He was runner-up at the Valspar Collegiate at 9-under which came against one of the strongest fields in collegiate golf this season.
The Uniontown, Ohio native leads the team in scoring at 71.57 and 20.5 of his 21 rounds have counted towards the team score. He also tops the squad with eight rounds in the 60s and 13 rounds at par or better. His current scoring average of 71.57 is the lowest for a season since Chris Wollmann averaged 71.50 as a senior in 1996-97. ....

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – The No. 1 Florida State Men’s Golf Team is in second place through two rounds at the Valspar Collegiate held at Floridian Golf Club in Palm City, Fla.
Freshman Brett Roberts is leading the way for the Seminoles, tying for sixth thus far at 5-under. Robert shot a first-round 69 and followed with a second-round 68, which included an eagle on the par-5, 535-yard 15th hole.
The Seminoles are at 14-under overall (279-275), trailing leader SMU by three strokes.
Vincent Norrman, Frederik Kjettrup and Connor Futrell are each tied for 14th at 2-under. John Pak is tied for 24th at 1-under, while individual Cole Anderson is tied for 33rd at 3-over. ....

Clemson, SC Jacob Bridgeman, Turk Pettit and Colby Patton all shot 36-hole scores of three-under-par 139 on Monday to lead Clemson to a tie for sixth place out of 11 teams at the Valspar Collegiate at the Floridian Golf Course in Palm City, Florida. The field includes six of the top 10 teams in the nation.
Clemson had a team total of 563 on Monday, the same total as seventh-ranked Arizona State and 29
th ranked South Florida. Tenth-ranked SMU has the team lead at 551, followed by top-ranked Florida State at 554. Third-ranked Wake Forest is third at 556 and Ohio State is fourth at 558. Fourth-ranked Pepperdine is fourth at 560. ....
