TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – It was a strong day for the No. 14 Florida State Men’s Golf Team at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup on Monday in Juno Beach, Fla. The Seminoles ended the 36-hole stroke play round in second place, following a first-round score of 7-under and an improved second round score of 8-under, totaling 15-under for the tournament at Seminole Golf Club.
Junior Brett Roberts was the top scoring Seminole, combining his two rounds for a 7-under par performance and securing third place. North Carolina currently leads at 32-under par.
Roberts had a rocky start to his first round, carding two bogeys in his first five holes, but quickly bounced back with six birdies to shoot a 3-under par 69. His second round was bogey free, capturing four birdies, with three being on the same holes as round one; No. 7 - a 430-yard par 4, No. 14 - a 510-yard par 5, and No. 15 - a 555-yard par 5.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – All six players for the Florida State Men’s Golf Team shot under par on Sunday afternoon as the Seminoles end the first round of the Cabo Collegiate Invitational in second place at 12-under.
Florida State trails only Oklahoma State (-13) by one stroke at one of collegiate golf’s most competitive tournaments. Frederik Kjettrup, Dan Bradbury, Brett Roberts and Cole Anderson each carded 3-under 68s in the opening round.
Playing as an individual, freshman Patrick McCann ended his first day as the top-ranked individual in the field after also carding a 3-under 68. Oklahoma State’s Brian Stark (-6) leads the field at 6-under.
Michael Sakane finished with a 1-under 70 to open the tournament. He is among the leaders in par 5 scoring so far, shooting 4-under on the long holes on Sunday. Sakane added an eagle to punctuate his day.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Sophomore Frederik Kjettrup led the way once again for the Florida State Men’s Golf Team, tying for ninth through the first two stroke-play rounds at the Jackson Stephens Cup held at the Alotian Golf Club in Roland, Ark.
The native of Demark is tied for ninth among the reduced-size 36-player men’s field. Florida State is fifth out of six teams as it shot 19-over (300-295) through the first two rounds. Kjettrup carded an overall score of 3-over (73-74) on the day.
Of his 36 holes played on Monday, Kjettrup recorded a birdie on eight of them. Five of his eight birdies came on the course’s back nine holes.
