As you get ready to head out we are seeing showers over the south bay, east bay, as well as the north bay up around napa. So were still looking at the possibility of this rain adding up on all of those heavy rainfall totals that we had and seeing a wintry mix as we look at upper elevations. As we head over toward the south county those rainfall totals have been pretty impressive. Well take a look back at those in a few minutes but snow on Mount Hamilton right now as well as some spotty, light rain in parts of the east bay. So im watching all of this
Catching even a little bit of sunshine later today. So, big changes ahead after a soaker of a storm with an Atmospheric River the last few days. The Atmospheric River well out of the area. You can see on hidef doppler lingering showers for us. You can see light shower activity over gilroy, 101 and up across the north bay from st. Helena and napa, vallejo and fairfield picking up light rain. Through the day, we are looking at partly sunny skies. So, a little sunshine. Highs in the low to mid50s this afternoon. As we time it out for you, taking you hour by hour, stopping the clock at lunchtime hour at noon, you can see sunshine through the day. Catching a bit of clearing as we head through the afternoon. Were going to have him a little later in this hour as well. Im laura garcia. Before we get to weather right now i want to tell you about a small earthquake that hit the north bay this morning. A 3. 3 magnitude quake hit about 5 00 a. M. It was about 13 miles north of healdsburg. No reports of injuries or damage so far. But what a way to wake up at least for those folks. And yesterday we were waking up to pounding rain across the bay area. Kari has a look at our forecast right now. That rain is getting lighter. This storm system is moving out but it was impressive. Now as we take a look at storm ranger, we are catching a break for much of the bay area. Still some lingering showers down around gilroy as well as around the napa area over toward Solano County. And we can see from our live camera from san jose, its be a beautiful morning now. Few lingering showers outside the sacramento valley, widening out the view to see what else is out there, the next storm is right there off our coast and will be moving in, starting in the north bay by tomorrow. So, as we look at how much rain we measured, this was huge. A lot of us got more rain with this one storm than we did all season long up to this point. And getting over 10 inches of rain at the santa cruz summit. Morgan hill from this one storm reaching six inches of rain. Fremont, redwood city, reacing over two inches of rain. Were seeing two inc san jose. Oakley reaching over 2 inches of rain. So now that we are getting a chance to let all of that soak in, temperatures are still pretty cool.
