Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Sunday, Dec. 31, at approximately 4:31 a.m., on the 25700 block of Vista Fairways Drive in Santa Clarita. ....
After he was unable to gain access to the vehicle, Jenkins then allegedly attempted to take her purse, according to officials on scene. “The suspect attempted to forcefully take the victim’s property from her possession,” Arriaga said. “A brief struggle ensued, however the victim was able to run away from the suspect.” Jenkins then reportedly boarded the bus following the encounter with the woman. “(He) actually entered the bus, assaulted the driver and attempted to carjack him,” said Captain Justin Diez, for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at the time of the crime. After Jenkins exited the bus, he was arrested and charged with felony counts of carjacking, attempt carjacking, attempted robbery and a misdemeanor charge of public intoxication, Arriaga added. ....
Two 20-year-olds matching the suspect descriptions were later detained by deputies and positively identified as the individuals who robbed the Tomato Joe’s. Andy Navarette, of Valencia and California Anderson, of Green Valley were both arrested for robbery, according to Arriaga. Jensen was not the only person to be arrested on similar weapons charges on Tuesday. That same day, a deputy with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station was reportedly patrolling in Valencia when they saw a vehicle driving in the area with no front license plate displayed. The deputy proceeded to conduct a traffic stop to warn and cite the driver. After making contact, the deputy learned that the man behind the wheel was not only a convicted felon on active parole, but also driving on a suspended license. “A search of his vehicle resulted in the recovery of narcotics, drug paraphernalia, as well as a loaded short barrel rifle and a large bag of ammunition,” wrote Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, in an official post Wednesday morning. ....
