Was very strong, he was upbeat and he was in good spirits. Reporter barry had just been released from Howard University hospital saturday evening after a twoday stay. He went and visited his son and stopped for a bite to eat. As he made his way from the car to his home barry collapsed. At 12 15 he was taken by ambulance to the United Medical center where he later died. Friends and supporters gathered at the hospital overnight and prayed while barry has been struggling with his health in recent years, the news still caught many off guard. It seemed so unreal because he always bounced back. Always depend on barry. He would go through ups and downs and health issues, he would always bounce back. A shock to all of us, a legend has truly left us. And a lot of friends and family members and supporters gathered overnight here at the hospital. Well hear more from some of them in the next hour. This vigil started in front of Marion Barrys house just a few blocks away where his supporters were greeted by his godson who thanked them all for coming to honor the men many have come to call mayor for life.
