We have seen images of fighters in the streets taking over portions of the presidential palace and as you noted, we have confirmed afghan president ghani fled the country leaving behind what we are seeing to be an extremely chaotic scene. Right now the u. S. Embassy in kabul has moved to the airport as evacuations continue and they have ordered at this moment to have all americans still on the ground to shelter in place amid reports to have airport taking fire. Now, earlier today this facility completely overwhelmed as the u. S. Military works to evacuate its personnel and the embassy personnel. Patrick, haiti in recent months has been going through a lot of political upheaval so what is the recovery like right now? what more can you tell us? i think the recovery is just beginning, if anything. The pictures we ve seen are people in the streets, understandably very distressed. Rubble everywhere. People shouting for help. Of course one of the major issues with that devastating 2010 earthquake was that so much of the construction in haiti is just not up to any kind of code. Patrick, what more are you hearing about the impact, what happened and the calamity? reporter: well, we re starting to hear from survivors of this earthquake, talking about buildings crashing down around them, people having to run for their lives. And of course the initial reports of fatalities. It will probably take days or longer to know exactly how many people have lost their lives, but there are reports of bodies in rubble. There are also pictures of people near the epicenter receiving aid, so there appears to be some sort of organization, people being pulled from the rubble, people being treated, and there are pictures of buildings that are still standing. So that does appear to be somewhat positive as well, the fact that this not happen in the capital of portauprince where the 2010 quake took place and cost hundreds of thousands of lives is really positive.
