CLEMSON, S.C. Senior midfielder Ousmane Sylla has been named a MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist, the United Soccer Coaches committee announced Wednesday. The native of Senegal adds to his many recognitions this season, already having been named an All-ACC First Team performer, the ACC Tournament MVP and First Team All-South Region. The MAC Hermann Trophy, presented by World Wide Technology, is the most coveted individual honor in both men’s and women’s NCAA Division I soccer and has been awarded annually since 1967. Most recently, Duncan McGuire (Creighton) and Michelle Cooper (Duke) received the award for outstanding intercollegiate performances last year. Sylla has led the Tigers offensively this season, with 12 goals and 10 assists on the year. He ranks in the top 50 in Division I in eight categories, including being ranked fifth in the country in total points (34).
