LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid on Tuesday directed the officials to strictly observe deadlines in the ongoing development projects in a review meeting at the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Sarah Aslam, Special Secretary PSHD Salman Ghani, Additional Secretary Admin Ghulam Farid, Additional Secretary Development Omar Farooq Alvi, Additional Secretary Technical Dr Asim Altaf and others. The health minister reviewed the status of existing and under development DHQ and THQ Hospitals, BHUs, RHCs, Sehat Ghar Programme, Trauma Centres and Diagnostic Centres. ....

A decision to set up a major trauma centre without full neurosurgery access is “nonsense” and puts patients’ lives at risk, a top neurosurgeon has warned.
On Tuesday, two major trauma centres, one in Cork University Hospital (CUH) and one at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin, were announced.
