berkeley could be in for a radical makeover. we are getting a look tonight at some plans to renovate the bart station. da lin says that is just the beginning. da. reporter: ken, we standing on center street now the heart of berkeley. that growth will surround this bart station. it s the anchor for that growth. and that s why they are spending money to modernize this rotunda and this transportation hub. it looks very old. not bad. i don t like the rotunda. i don t like it. reporter: this rotunda, like it or not, has served as the main entrance for the downtown berkeley bart station for almost half century. now city leaders and bart are about to pump $10 million into the heart of berkeley transforming this hub into something like this. this is a city being reborn right here. reporter: matt nichols is the principal planner leading the revitalization of this transportation hub. he says more than 30,000 transit riders come through here every day. that number is goin
