New Delhi is preparing to welcome global leaders for the G20 summit by showcasing its culture, crafts, and cuisine. The city has undergone a transformation with flower pots, decorated artefacts, murals, and fountains. Landmarks from India and other G20 member countries have been painted on the walls, and metro stations have been given a makeover.
Delhi Police announced that there is no lockdown during the G20 Summit, which is scheduled for September 9 and 10. But people have to follow traffic guidelines.
The G20 Summit will take place at the revamped India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) complex, erstwhile Pragati Maidan. It has been built at a cost of Rs 2,700 crores and constructed within an area of 123 acres
With eight days left for the G20 Summit, Delhi is being decked up for the global event, which will see many delegates and heads of countries converge in the national capital.
