GATINEAU, QC, June 2, 2021 /CNW/ - The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all Canadian workers, but some groups – including women – have been disproportionately affected and their economic recovery has been slower. The Government of Canada recognizes that a robust and inclusive recovery is necessarily a feminist recovery as well and that supports such as child care are critical to achieving that goal. Investing in new training and employment supports for women, with a focus on removing barriers to accessibility and inclusion, will ensure that no one is left further behind and that everyone takes part in Canada s economic recovery. ....

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will join
Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland as she hits the virtual hustings to promote her long-awaited budget the first, it’s worth noting, to be presented to MPs in more than two years, as well as the first to face an opposition-controlled House in more than a decade.
As per his official itinerary, Trudeau and Freeland are set to team up with
Social Development Minister Ahmed Hussen for a “virtual discussion” with parents that will focus on “experiences families have faced caring for children during the pandemic,” as well as “early learning and child care measures” outlined in Freeland’s proposed fiscal roadmap to post-COVID-19 recovery.
