Ogun, Niger and Rivers State governments have explained the reasons why governors have always shunned signing death warrants for the execution of condemned criminals.
A new criminal charge has been brought against Adegbola Abdulazeez, an Isese (indigenous religion) practitioner and activist, also known as Tani Olohun in Ilorin, Kwara State Capital. In a document made available to SaharaReporters on Wednesday morning by one of Tani Olohun’s lawyers, Adedamola Solesi, the detained traditional worshipper was slammed with three fresh defamation charges by another Islamic Cleric, Alfa Labeeb Lagbaji in another Kwara Magistrates Court sitting in Ilorin, the state capital.
The counsel to Adegbola Abdulazeez, an Isese (indigenous religion) practitioner and activist, also known as Tani Olohun, Adedamola Solesi has described the new criminal charges brought against his client as a breach of court process. Adedamola mentioned this to SaharaReporters, while reacting to the three fresh defamation charges slammed on his client by another Islamic Cleric, Alfa Labeeb Lagbaji in another Kwara Magistrates Court sitting in Ilorin, the state capital.
In the suit filed by counsel, Mr Taofiq Olateju on behalf of Lagbaji, Tani Olohun was alleged to have used social media - Facebook and YouTube to blackmail the cleric.
