Nagaland Chief Minister inaugurates new police station

‘Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act not serving its purpose’ Our Reporter Dimapur, Nov. 5 (EMN): Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio on Saturday inaugurated a new police station at Sovima village, Chümoukedima, in the presence of Deputy CM Y Patton and other officials. Speaking at the event, Rio urged the police personnel to be vigilant, saying that drug trafficking is increasing in Sovima village though crime rate is low. He also asked the residents of the village to be supportive and cooperative by providing information to the police. Policing has become more challenging with criminals using all kind of latest technology, he said, while expressing contentment over anti-social elements being caught by the cyber crime branch. Police, CRPF and others observe Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

Dimapur, Oct. 31 (EMN): Nagaland Police, 173Bn CRPF and a host of government departments and institutions observed ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas‘ (National Unity Day) on Monday to commemorate the 147th birth anniversary of ‘Iron man of India’ Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. Nagaland Police: Nagaland Police (NP) observed Rashtryia Ekta Diwas at conference hall, PHQ Kohima, where DGP, T John Longkumer, in his address stated that Rashtryia Ekta Diwas was introduced by the Government of India to instill unity among the citizens of India. Padma Shri Dr. Temsula Ao laid to rest in Dimapur

Padma Shri Dr. Temsula Ao was laid rest in Dimapur after a brief funeral service at her residence in Lengrijan Colony on Monday. Ao, who was a renowned poet, scholar, novelist and ethnographer, and served the people in various capacities including chairperson of the Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW), passed away at Eden Medical Centre Dimapur on Sunday. She was 80 and is survived by three daughters and a son, who is also the Director General of Police, Nagaland, T John Longkumer, and 10 grand children. Speaking at the funeral service, Longkumer said that his mother introduced him to the sound of jazz music when he was a kid; that she had a very ecstatic taste in music and was also a good singer. ....
