Sweetwater County Enters into Fire Restrictions

SWEETWATER COUNTY  Sweetwater County will be entering into Stage 1 fire restrictions on public and private lands, effective July 9, 2021. Sweetwater County Fire Warden Mike Bournazian approached the Sweetwater County Commissioners Tuesday to get approval to enter into Stage 1 fire restrictions. The Commission approved the request 4-0. Despite not personally favoring restricting people’s access to having fires, Bournazian said that the hot weather and dry fuel conditions merited the request. Advertisement - Story continues below. “It’s not [a request] that I’m happy to bring to you,” Bournazian said. “It is evident that we are at the parameters… that it would be the right thing to do to enter into fire restrictions at Stage 1.”

Airport Director Comments on Executive Order Requiring Masks at Airports

SWEETWATER COUNTY Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport Director Devon Brubaker informed the Sweetwater County Commissioners Tuesday that an executive order is now requiring face masks to be worn while at the airport, including areas outside the terminal building, in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus. As of 11:59 pm Monday, President Biden’s Executive Order on Promoting COVID-19 Safety in Domestic and International Travel went into effect nationally, which requires travelers to wear face masks when they are in airports, bus and rail stations, as well as while on passenger aircraft, public transportation, passenger railroads, and over-the-road buses operating on scheduled fixed-routes.

Castle Rock Hospital District to Discuss Plans for EMS Services in Green River

SWEETWATER COUNTY  The Castle Rock Hospital District (CRHD) Board will be discussing EMS services in Green River with the Sweetwater County Commissioners Tuesday morning. On January 19, 2021, at the Sweetwater County Courthouse, the hospital district and the Commissioners will discuss the recent cancellation of ambulance contracts. On December 15, 2020, the Sweetwater County Commissioners announced they will terminate service contracts and all associated funding with those contracts with Sweetwater Medics and Castle Rock Ambulance Service, effective March 31, 2021.
