Noosa residents have been urged to get tested for COVID-19 after fragments of SARS-CoV-2 were detected in the shire s wastewater treatment plant.
Queensland Health say the treatment plant services the suburbs of Boreen Point, Castaways Beach, Cooroibah, Marcus Beach, Noosa Heads, Noosaville, Peregian Beach, Sunrise Beach, Sunshine Beach and Tewantin.
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service public health physician Dr Penny Hutchinson said anyone with symptoms, no matter how mild, should come forward and get tested. ....

Coast cases steady as state figure grows by just one

It came after Queensland Health announced earlier this week it was confident it had found the missing link in the first of two Brisbane clusters.
Queensland Health released a list of venues the case had visited, which included several on the Sunshine Coast which had been released to the public earlier this week.
The following locations have been listed by Queensland Health as close contacts.
If you have been to any of the below locations at the relevant times you should quarantine for 14 days and complete the contact tracing self-assessment.

Statewide detections drop as Coast gets another active case

Across the state only three new cases were detected in the last 24 hours with two of those in hospital quarantine and one a community transmission case.
The community transmission case was a man who had visited Black Hops Brewery in East Brisbane last month.
He tested positive while in quarantine and had quarantined during his entire infectious period.
Black Hops Brewery had been added as a close contact site on Saturday March 20 between 12pm and 2pm.
Queensland s chief health officer Dr Jeannette Young said testing numbers had again been high on Friday and she hoped that continued for the next two weeks. ....

Department explains as Coast's active cases jump to 10

Patient transfers can occur between hospitals as part of Queensland s broader management of COVID-19 patients, the spokeswoman said.
The update came as the state s chief health officer Dr Jeannette Young revealed Queensland Health believed it had identified the missing link in the first of Brisbane s two most recent clusters.
A nurse from Princess Alexandra Hospital, who was no longer an active case and no longer infectious, was pinpointed through serology testing.
Dr Young said the investigation had revealed she was most likely infectious in mid-March.
The investigation linked the nurse directly to the same patient who had infected another clinician and the pair had worked on the same ward. ....

First crop of future 'Coast-grown' doctors take next step

Several students among this cohort are academic elite graduates of local Sunshine Coast high schools, Professor Williams said.
Of the 48 new Year One students, 18 have entered the medical program from the University of the Sunshine Coast Bachelor of Medical Science program.
