Several students among this cohort are academic elite graduates of local Sunshine Coast high schools, Professor Williams said.
Of the 48 new Year One students, 18 have entered the medical program from the University of the Sunshine Coast Bachelor of Medical Science program.
We would also like to welcome the remaining 30 students who come from all over Australia and from a wide variety of backgrounds.
These students will be training in the state-of-the-art education facilities at Sunshine Coast Health Institute.
