A CAMPAIGN to ensure every child in the Bradford district is warm this winter is now taking donations in the form of warm clothing. Bradford’s community groups, faith groups, public sector organisations and the business community have joined forces on the No Child Cold campaign to help families struggling with the extra heating costs caused by children being at home during whilst schools are closed. It was launched in January and helps to support families where household income has dropped due to a loss of hours at work or furlough, as well as families in receipt of certain benefits, or where children qualify for free school meals and fuel costs have increased because of remote learning.
COMMUNITY Action Bradford & District – which has a base in Keighley – has received free legal advice so it can continue to operate safely within Covid-19 guidelines. The organisation – whose premises include Central Hall, in Alice Street – has been helped by LCF Law to draft a new commercial leasing agreement including bespoke Covid clauses. Dr Soo Nevison, for Community Action Bradford & District, said: “The commercial leases and licences provided by LCF Law have given us the confidence that all tenants will be able to comply with the Covid-19 regulations when renting space we own. “Our previous leases were out of date and we needed to bring things into line. LCF Law has stepped in and helped us – and we are very grateful for its support.”
