Reporter it feels fantastic. The dewpoint have dropped off. Its very, very nice, refreshing breeze out of the northwest. 85 degrees, millville, 87. Dover, wilmington, 85. Allentown, 83. Look at the poconos, 75 degrees at this midday hour. Heres a look at the dewpoints this tells the story. These numbers have been in the low to mid 70s for the last 48 hours starting to see them retreat back into the mid 60s, its starting to feel better. The numbers will lower throughout the day. Some locations could see the dewpoint temperature drop into the 50s later on. That will feel really, really good. Satellite and radar were expecting walltowall blue skies from this point on. We have our coverage across the country. Lets begin with richard engel. He was in chelsea. Reporter i spoke to a witness even closer to the scene than i was. He said he heard a very loud explosion, immediately thought it was a bomb. His ears were ringing. He was inside his apartment. The window didnt break, but the mirrors fell to the ground. He went outside and saw broken glass everywhere, on both sides of this very busy intersection. He said that some of the broken windows were as high as on the fourth floor of nearby buildings. Whats unclear, however, is who did this or why. Just after 8 30 last night, an explosion rocked new york city as chelsea neighborhood, sending people running in panic. Lets go get off the streets it sounded like thunder, to be honest. You felt it in your heart. I heard a massive explosion then fire trucks and police cars. A massive response. Very unnerving. We continue to follow the develops news out of new york city. An explosion vinjured more than two dozen people. Security footage from a nearby Fitness Center show the moment of the explosion. This happened on 23rd street near 7th avenue. That would be the chelsea neighborhood of manhattan. 29 people were injured, including one seriously, but everybody is expected to survive. Authorities say most of the injuries were scrapes and cuts from glass and other debris. Investigators say theyre not sure if the explosion came from inside a large trash bin or on the street. Its a busy area of manhattan and full of people at the time.
