Hello and welcome to the programme. Bill and Melinda Gates the couple who founded the worlds largest charitable foundation have announced they are to divorce after 27 years of marriage. The founder of microsoft, Bill Gates is the fourth richest man on the planet. In a joint statement posted on twitter, the couple said they would continue to work together at the foundation that bears their name. But that they could no longer grow together as a couple in the next phase of their lives. Our correspondent in los angeles, Peter Bowes has this update. I think this has come as a shock to a lot of people, certainly that one of the worlds wealthiest couples, best known couples in the Charity World now and, of course, Bill Gates with microsoft which he founded in 1975, that they should be going their separate ways.
