Clemson in Fifth Near End of Second Round of UNC Wilmington Seahawk Intercollegiate

Clemson, SC Andrew Swanson shot an opening round 70 and is six-under par through 16 holes on his second round to lead Clemson at the UNC Wilmington Seahawk Intercollegiate at the Country Club of Landfall Dye Course in Wilmington, NC.    The 17-team field completed the first round, then golfers completed between 13 and 17 holes of their second round before darkness halted play. The tournament on the par 72 course that measures 7,031 yards will be finished tomorrow with the completion of the second round and the third round. Clemson is in fifth place,  but is just five shots out of second.  TCU has the lead at 19-under par while Stetson is second at -13. Swanson, who leads the Tigers in stroke average for the year, stood in second place in the individual race at eight-under-par when play was halted due to darkness.  He is second to Matt Gauntlet of Stetson who was at -11 three 16 holes of his second round. Clemson in Third Place After First Round of Blessings Collegiate

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. Kian Rose  and Jonathan Nielsen  both had  even par  rounds of 72 on Monday  to lead Clemson to a 292 team score and a tie for third -place standing with Texas A&M  out of 11 teams after the first round  of the Blessings Collegiate at The Blessings Golf Club in Johnson, Arkansas.   The second round will be played on Tuesday and  the final round on Wednesday.All three rounds will be televised by The Golf Channel with coverage each day from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Eastern.Clemson played the last three holes at four-under par to move from seventh to third in the final first-round standings.   Clemson played the par four holes at five over par, best in the field.Clemson is just eight shots off the team lead held by host school Arkansas, who shot a four-under par team round of 284.   Kansas, who was 11-under-par at one point, finished with a two-under-par team score of 286 and is in second place.   Clemson and Texas A&M are tied for third at four-over ....

Clemson Heads to Arkansas for Blessings Collegiate

CLEMSON, S.C. Clemson will be one of 11 teams in the national field at the Blessings Collegiate that will be held October 3-5 at The Blessings Golf Club in Johnson, Arkansas.    The tournament will be televised by the Golf Channel with broadcasts from 3:30  p.m..m. to 6:30 p.m. each day.  It will be the first time Clemson has played in a regular season tournament televised by the Golf Channel.Clemson will be joined in the field by host school and 14th ranked Arkansas, 17th ranked Texas A&M, 23rd ranked Mississippi, California, Kansas, Louisville, Mississippi State, Central Florida, UCLA and UNLV.The unique tournament also will have 11 women’s teams competing in a separate tournament at the same course.  Clemson’s women’s team is in that field as well.The Tournament will held on the 7,700 -yard Blessings Course, the second longest course Clemson has played in its history. Clemson in Sixth Place After First Round of Folds of Honor Collegiate

CLEMSON, S.C. Kian Rose shot  a one-under-par 71 to lead Clemson to a sixth-place team standing after the first round of the Folds of Honor Collegiate in Grand Haven, Michigan.  The Tigers had a team score of six-over-par 294 in the opening round on the par 72 American Dunes Course that was designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened just last year. This is the first Folds of Honor Collegiate Tournament and it is the first time Clemson has played any golf tournament in the state of Michigan. While Clemson stands in sixth place in the 18-team event, the Tigers are just seven shots behind first-place Florida State, and just four shots behind second place Liberty.   Illinois and Oregon State are tied for third at 292, while Arizona is fifth at 293, just one shot ahead of the Clemson in Sixth Place after First Round of  Folds of Honor Collegiate Tigers. Clemson Opens Season at Maui Jim in Arizona

CLEMSON, S.C. For the second consecutive season, Clemson will open its season in Arizona at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate at Mirabel Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. Head coach Jordan Byrd hopes his team has similar results to last year when the Tigers finished second out of 14 teams and with an all-time record score of 797, 43-under-par.The tournament will run from Friday, September 9 through Sunday, September 11. The Tigers will bring seven total players, as two will play as individuals. Live scoring will be available on golfstat.com.The Tigers will have a different lineup compared to last year as three seniors off last year’s NCAA Tournament team have graduated. Only one player who was in the lineup for last year’s Maui Jim will be in the lineup this weekend.Carter Pendley is that only common denominator between the 2021 and 2022 Clemson lineups for this event.
