Power is retiring from the board at the end of his term. “If I am re-appointed, it will be for another six-year term,” the 77-year-old Power said, as he wanted someone new to step into his role. “I did not want to commit another six years to it. Eighty-three is way too old.” As one of the three members of the road commission, Power was responsible for overseeing 1,800 miles of roads, more than 100 drains, the county parks, and the county airport. The road commissioners set the policy for how the department operates as well. ....

Students receive CPR training FacebookTwitterEmail Thanks to the partnership between Caseville Public Schools and Scheurer Health, local seventh graders learned lifesaving skills. The Caseville Public Schools seventh grade class received in-school training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, otherwise known as CPR. AHA instructors Jaylee Chandonnet and Alicia Swartzendruber spent an hour and a half with the students teaching them the correct steps to perform adult, child and infant CPR. Students were given their own mannequin to practice scene safety, checking for responsiveness, calling 911, using an AED, checking for breathing, correct debt/rate and mouth to mouth.
