Today. Were all here, obviously, because of Bridget Bishop and her battle of victims 1692, the long summer and hot fall of 1692. This is the 325th anniversary of those events. As a history professor, i am sometimes reticent to indulge in what i call anniversary history. Because i like my students to think that every single day is historic. But it does feel right to take a moment, take a day, and really think about what happened during that year. So thats what were doing today. The city of salem is going to be doing probably all summer long.
